Flood Alert, Beach House

Yesterday I received a very unexpected phone call from my neighbour at the beach house, expressing her concern on the volume of water within the Close. 

They have had 48 hours of solid, heavy rain over the weekend and then a main pipe had burst in the Close.  These factors put together, we were an inch or so from the bungalow flooding.

Very unexpected, and not good news for a Monday morning!

Our very good friends, who live just round the corner swam walked round to see what damaged was being caused.  Luckily no water had enter the bungalow (YET) other than in the lean to.  They did what they could by unplugging everything and lifting some things off the floor.  Where would we be without friends!!!

A phone call late last night (around 9.30pm) has proved the worse news we could hear....everyone on the close had been flooded.  I can only assume at this stage we have been too.
