Preparation for Yarndale: Part Two

The kind ladies at Yarndale have produced some wonderful tote bags - and courtesy of H we all received one.  Many of the organizers have customized their bags - so we set ourselves a challenge to customize our own bags in time for our weekend away....now what to do....

Something woolly - without a doubt.....

Back in July an idea for some pom pom's - using left over wool from the bunting ........ a dandelion was thought of...

Having pinned and then left for near on six weeks, I finally got round to sewing on - using green pipe cleaners as the stalks.

Ta Dah....

Now will this one bag be enough to carry all my new goodies?  Yes you're right.....doubtful!

May 2011:  Crochet Bag

My new skill to learn for 2011 was Crochet - something I started when I was a teenager and never really got on with.  Took an hour course at Alexandra Palace last year - and again didn't really get on but (not sure why - perhaps the discovery of attic24 blog - http://www.attic24.typepad.com/) wanted to try a bit more.  Took a four week course in Cheam at a local wool shop and tah-dah!!  My very first crochet project.  And hopefully many more!

Febuary 2011: 70th Birthday Quilt.

I made this double bed quilt for my Mother in-law in February 2011 and presented it to her for her 70th Birthday.  It took 6 months (on and off) to make.  Machine pieced and machine quilted - using free motion - first use of free motion feather deisign in boarders.
